Astrid's
curiosity for people and faraway countries got stirred when, as a young girl,
she listened to the astonishing and adventurous stories told by her grandmother
who had lived in South Africa. Astrid's motto ever since has been: "Live
your dreams". Blessed with an outgoing personality and a passion for learning
and experiencing different cultures, she decided to explore foreign nations and
people; and she traveled extensively, living in several continents over a number
of years. Astrid, - meaning "divine force" in
Swedish - is indeed a force for good, and has always looked for ways to use her
life experience and diverse cultural knowledge to enrich the lives of others.
Using her multilingual skills and her multicultural understanding, she taught
at a prestigious private language school for adults. Awards - such as the Outstanding
Teacher of the Year in the Texas District - recognized her superior professional
performance. Using her teaching experience, and recognizing
that there are various learning styles, she next created her own language school.
In it, she has offered language courses that integrate different learning needs
and preferences with custom-made teaching styles. This experience further sharpened
her interest in how different ways of learning and looking at the world can help
or impede learning, and how sensitivity and creativity of the teacher are necessary
for the individual student to reach his full potential. Her
interest in professional life coaching was a natural next step. In life as in
learning, a good coach must be wise, and must be driven by empathy, enthusiasm,
and a deep compassion and interest in people. Astrid has these qualities and more.
With an unusual perceptive skill and an empathic understanding of personal problems,
she aims to help people in various - and often seemingly hopeless - life situations.
Success comes by assisting people to find their strengths,
learn what slows them down, and keep a focus on their goals. The journey makes
clients less afraid, more understanding of themselves, and more able to express
and enjoy their feelings, and their lives. The experience
opens a clear path to where the client wants to go -and Astrid is there always
to cheer them on.
